Boycott Whole Foods
To boycott Whole Foods or not to boycott Whole Foods? Interesting that any true progressive would even need to consider the issue for more than a brief second. Here’s the deal — as long as we have a democratic political system and a capitalistic economic system, you are going to have a small group of very rich, very powerful corporate executives who are going to have a lot of influence over public policies. So when they use that influence to advocate policies that work to the detriment of the average citizen, they need to be held accountable. If you just shake your head, maybe write a letter to someone, and then continue to patronize their place of business, there’s no way you will ever affect any change in their behavior. They will just continue to take your money, live their opulent life style, and promote policies that benefit no one except themselves. The only thing these people understand is the bottom line, the almighty dollar. If you hurt them there, you get their attention. Anything else is just pissing in the wind.
