Let the world change you... and you can change the world

Epic Fail

Expanding a bit on what Atrios says, it’s now been over three years since the financial meltdown of 2008, and incredibly we are still pretty much right where we were back then.  Nothing has improved, and more importantly, nothing has changed — which of course, is exactly why nothing has improved.  We still have “too big to fail” banks wreaking havoc on the economy, no one has been held accountable for what happened back then, and there’s been no legislation passed at all to prevent another meltdown from happening.  The economy is stuck in neutral and no one is doing anything about it.  The so-called “job creators” in private enterprise have no incentive to hire people since there’s no demand for goods, and the Republicans have blocked every attempt by the Obama administration to jump start the economy with any kind of significant stimulus package.

And here’s the scary part — every single Republican candidate for President not only doesn’t have any plan at all for how to make things better, they all advocate going back to the same policies of tax cuts for the rich and less regulation of business that got us in to the current mess!  It continues to boggle the mind as to why there isn’t a massive repudiation of the Republican Party for what they have done to this country over the last 30 years, and for what they threaten to do in the future.  And so life goes on in Idiot Nation.
